Bintan Food & Beverage

Savoury dishes are commonly used in Bintan Island.  From popular dishes like bakso (Indonesia meatball soup), satay (well-marinated meat skewered on bamboo sticks), soto (rice cake in spicy chicken or beef broth) and otah-otah (grilled fished cake), these dishes are a favourite among the locals and visitors alike.

With many modern developments surrounding the island, many resorts which comes with restaurants dishes up exquisite dishes that range from international, Asian, Mediterranean and European. 

A local ingredient like tempe (fermented soy bean) is generally used in many dishes served in open-air markets as well as restaurants.   Local snacks such as prawn or fish crackers and traditional Indonesian layered-cake make a real treat for the sweet tooth.
